Speaker 1:

You are now listening to the Fit for Her Journey podcast with Allie Gibbs. Welcome back to another episode of the Fit for Her Journey podcast, where we have a bit of church, a bit of life, health and wellness and a lot of the word God's word. I am your host, allie Gibbs. What's up? Fit for Her Journey family, how are you?

Speaker 1:

As for me, I'm feeling good, feeling grateful and blessed to be back at it again, partnering with the Lord. Let me just say it is not easy to pray and ask God to reveal something in your heart and he's silent, and or you're confused about what starts to stir up on the inside, so your thoughts begin racing and counteracting each other. I've been experiencing that a lot. Actually Walking by faith and obedience is uncomfortable, to say the least, but God is always faithful and His Word never returns void. If y'all don't mind, I just want to take a moment to keep things light and share what the Lord has placed on my heart for today. This may not be the expression for everyone listening right now, but for me, I love spending time with God, dwelling in His presence during worship and reading His Word. I love spending time there because everyday life isn't easy and it does not fall short of lifing us and it can be so unkind us and it can be so unkind the world, society and culture can also be so shallow. But holding on to the truth and promises of God keeps me going, often reading and rereading the same scriptures over and over. I've come to a point in my life where I only want to align myself with God's will for my life. I don't want anything that's not for me. I seek God because I've come to know that his love is unmatched. Jesus is our Lord and Savior, who does not waver against us. He is unchanging, he is steadfast and his love and grace is constant. And truthfully, in all honesty, he is the only solid rock in our humanity. Okay, he is the true cornerstone. Can anyone else relate to this?

Speaker 1:

I've come to be intentional in my relationship with God, seeking his presence, reading and trusting his word, and to think there was a time where I didn't, where I didn't want to do it, I didn't desire it or wanted to try. I also didn't know how. That's why, when I look back on how I came to accept salvation through Jesus and to be in relationship with him today, my heart is full of gratitude. I give him all praise and honor because he is worthy of it all. It's something that I will be forever grateful for because he hasn't given up on me. In all transparency, which is what we do here, I can look back and testify that God himself placed the desire in my heart to seek him and to give my life to Jesus. He knew when it was time for me to turn to him. He knew all the things I would go through that would lead me to the place of salvation. I wouldn't prefer any of it, but I'm grateful for it. He truly knows my story and yours. He knows the end from the beginning. We don't. Even with all our mess, sin and rebellion, all the many shortcomings, jesus still reaches out his hand to save and to give life, and we just have to choose to accept that gift.

Speaker 1:

Maybe you're someone who thinks that you are too far away from God. Or maybe you've been in relationship with him but you haven't seen his hand in your life, so you think he's mad at you. Maybe you've been hurt by someone of the faith and you just don't know how or want to come back. Or maybe you just haven't come to know him at all. I've shared this before that I did not grow up in church. It was rare for us to go to church, but growing up with my grandparents, my family wasn't faithless. My family wasn't faithless. I was surrounded by faith, but for me, as a young girl and into my adult life, I lacked so much understanding. And it doesn't fall short that the world and society we live in today there is still so many people in and of the church, the body of Christ, who also lack understanding and knowledge of God and Christ.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to be bold in this statement and say there is no perfect Christian. God's plan was for the purpose of making us like the image of Jesus Christ, similar to him, not perfect like him. To believe one can be made perfect like him in our humanity will be self-righteous and will be giving Pharisee and Sadducee character. If you know, you know, don't do it, sis. Jesus was never looking for perfection. He's looking for you and I to follow him.

Speaker 1:

Romans 8, 28 through 30 reminds us of this truth and promise. It says to the image of his son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers, sidebar or sisters, and those whom he predestined he also called. And those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. Let this be an encouragement to you today that no matter if you think you are too far away from God, you've worshiped things of this world, other idols, and may feel God is mad at you, you've been hurt by other believers or you just don't know Jesus, god is not mad at you. If you are listening to this, you are blessed to still be among the land of the living, which means he is not finished with you. If you are listening to this, you are blessed to still be among the land of the living, which means he is not finished with you. He hasn't changed his mind about you. Salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ, is still available to you.

Speaker 1:

God's sovereignty is steadfast. He will work all things not some things, but all things together for good. He knew you before the beginning of time. He knew the sinful paths you would take, the rebellion you would continuously give. Every time you would run astray like the particle sun. He even knows all the pain and sufferings you would face, but with it all, he still calls you for purpose. He predestined you to be made in the image of Jesus. He redeemed you to be justified and glorified as his daughter, who loves him for his undeniable glory and your good undeniable glory and your good.

Speaker 1:

I've come to learn that I was never exempt from pain, suffering, betrayal, loss, none of it. And although we will face sufferings of this present time, hold on to this truth as well. Romans 8.18,. For I consider the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us Now. That's faith and hope right there. God, who is able to do far more than we can ask or think, can make even the sufferings we face to work together for good, for his glory and our good.

Speaker 1:

Don't lose your faith and hope. If you're anything like me, I can remember having faith but being confused about my faith, praying but lacking trust and patience in the waiting, moving ahead of God to do things on my own and my way. But the Lord's grace is sufficient. His steadfast love is consistent and His grace endures forever is consistent and his grace endures forever. All of these are promises of God, even in God's plan to redeem us, our salvation in Jesus and to be set apart. Our individual participation is essential. Our cooperation to be transformed and change is something God does with us.

Speaker 1:

See, I don't know about you, but I have peace, gratitude and joy about that, because it lets me know that, no matter what's happening in life at the current moment or the chaos of the world around us, god's word, truth and promises still remain. It's giving 2 Corinthians, 10 5. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and take every thought captive to obey Christ. So from his word we can confidently say the Lord is my helper. The Lord will not leave me nor forsake me. Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you. Cast your burden on the Lord and he will sustain you. The Lord is on my side. I am with you always, to the end of the age I will come to you. And lastly, I love spending time with God, dwelling in His presence and reading his word, because it is his word and the steadfast love and grace of my Lord, jesus Christ, that keeps me going, and it's for you too. So I want to leave you with this Be encouraged to spend time in the Lord's presence, not forcefully or grudgingly, not with expectation of just his hand, but of his heart, and I pray that any uncertainty or confusion you may be faced with in your faith, that God will reveal himself to you and that you meet Jesus in a real way, that your heart will be forever changed and you draw near to Jesus and your soul is saved before he returns again.

Speaker 1:

God is for us and there is no devil in hell that can convince me otherwise. I'm believing the Lord will meet you right where you are, sis. I declare that the plans and purpose God has for you will come to pass and, in the mighty name of Jesus, I pray Amen and amen. Family.
