Hey sis, can we take a moment and thank God for growth? It has been resonating in my spirit to share with you about spiritual growth. Spiritual growth is developed over time. We often start off fresh, moved by how God moved within us. We accept salvation, believing that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. Now you are on fire for Jesus. You want to step out, sharing all the good news about Jesus and the sovereign God we serve.
Speaker 1:But growth comes with time. You don't see it right away. It takes time because you don't receive the harvest when the seed is planted. Galatians 6, 7 says Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. You can't expect to receive an immediate harvest. You have to water that seed. An immediate harvest. You have to water that seed how?
Speaker 1:Through prayer, worship, repentance, serving and reading and edifying yourself in the word of God. In doing so you begin to become transformed by the renewing of your mind. You have discernment, you're seeking the Lord and his will for your life and you're more sensitive to hear his voice. You're living for Jesus and not just hearing about Jesus. We must be doers of the word and not just a hearer of the word. See James 1, 22 through 24 reminds us. But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says, otherwise you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror you see yourself, walk away and forget what you look like.
Speaker 1:Spiritual growth comes with time, as you begin to see the fruit of the spirit showing up in your life. Now apply those same principles of spiritual growth to your health and wellness journey. Maybe you have become aware of the need to make a lifestyle change, because something may have triggered in your health. The seed for weight loss and better health may be planted. But the results don't come overnight, even though we all wish that it did. But Galatians 6-7 still stands. Even here, spiritual growth and weight loss happens over time. You put practices in place as you're watering the process by changing how and what you eat, the habits surrounding it. You exercise more because movement helps burn those calories. It helps that process and regulates your hormones, as well as improve your overall health, while increasing the chances to experience weight loss and growth. You begin to renew your mind and how you view yourself exercise, diet and overall health as a whole. You can't just say you want to lose weight and get healthy. You have to actually do it, just like living for Jesus. You must become a doer and not just a hearer. So, sis, I want to encourage you to take a step towards improving your health and spiritual growth. Take a moment and let the words from James 1 sit with you today and thank God for spiritual growth.
Speaker 1:Hey, sis, I want to take a moment and speak to someone who is feeling they are in a bit of a Job season, seeing Job's story. His health was attacked suddenly and quickly and no one, including Job, understood or knew why. Maybe you are experiencing some issues or circumstances surrounding your health and its current state. It may have you feeling displeased. It may have you left wondering where it came from and why it is happening right now.
Speaker 1:At this time, I want to encourage you to trust in the Lord anyway, even when you have doubters around you. Like Job did I say to you trust in the Lord for healing and complete and total restoration? Why? Because we serve a God who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ask or think. In addition, he loves and cares for you and his grace is sufficient for you. So, whatever the big thing is, the health thing is that you are facing.
Speaker 1:If you feel like your hope or faith is slipping, be reminded of Job. Even when we are faithless, god remains faithful. He cannot deny himself or his holiness. He has you covered, even when the outcome doesn't happen the way you want it or expect it, and when the enemy comes trying to shake things up, god is faithful and he has a plan and purpose for everything he does concerning you and me. So I speak renewed mindsets and restored faith over you today in the name of Jesus, because God is able to do the impossible, and I believe him for it. So be blessed, be well. I love you and God loves you more.
