Speaker 1:

You are now listening to the Fit for Her Journey podcast with Allie Gibbs. Hey, sis, welcome back to another episode of Fit for Her Journey, where we have a bit of church, a bit of life, health and wellness and a lot of the word, god's word. I am your host, allie Gibbs. All right, family? I have been praying and God has been blowing my mind. Okay, I have been experiencing some highs and lows because of life's uncertainties lately, because of life's uncertainties lately, and I've been praying that God reveal to me his plans for me, because mine are raggedy, clearly. Okay, and God has been faithful in doing just that. We are all in different seasons of our spiritual journey and walk with Christ and when we go through different situations, we may even see our faith shift a little or a lot, even our trust in God. But I want to insert an instant reminder and tell you that God knows the end from the beginning and he has a plan to see you through. I want to take some time and speak to you all for a moment with the heart, posture and message to let God be God. I feel that for somebody I know we all can find our own way of letting God be God in our lives. But let's look at four inspiring Bible verses that lead us towards trust, surrender and faith in our spiritual journey with God and walk with Christ.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I once thought that letting God be God meant reaching out to call on Him for or about something, especially during trying times when I felt like I could no longer control a certain outcome, and asking God to step in. Or I found myself not coming to him at all with a decision and often found myself picking up matters in my own hands to solve and or resolve what I was experiencing in that moment and not giving God time to do what God does best, because I was not trusting that he would make a way, not trusting his timing. I lacked patience, then turned around asking God why me? I didn't like what was in front of me. I needed someone to blame and I did not know how to stand firm before the enemy. I didn't know that I had the armor of God. I didn't know that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I didn't know at the time that I had authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and I had authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall hurt me. Can anyone else relate. But God, isn't he good? Proverbs 3, 5 through 6 says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding In all your Come on somebody.

Speaker 1:

Too many of us today, we find ourselves at the place of not trusting anyone when it comes to making a solid or important decision. In these crazy times, it's understandable, but many people are also resisting to trust God. We're so busy making all the decisions, living life on our own terms, efforts and not realizing that God knows the best path for us all. We don't know what the year, month, week or day looks like, not even the next few minutes, but God does. God is the only one who knows what we need better than we know ourselves. We must trust him and surrender unto him with the choices we make in our lives. Sis, let me add that this does not mean you cannot think for yourself or that God wants to belittle your way of thinking. He is the creator of all things and he knows that. He gave you that strong gift and ability to reason. But you should never be too bold and prideful to not bring it to him in prayer and lay it down at his feet, or not to allow his word and wise counsel to lead you. He will make your cricket path straight, both to guide you and protect you. Don't mess with God's glory, sis.

Speaker 1:

As a personal trainer, nutrition coach and weight loss specialist serving women, I am a firm believer in sharing with my clients to invite God into the details of their journey. For the majority of people who set goals to lose weight, work out, eat healthier or work on improving their health overall often have a reason for doing so. Rather, they had a baby and want to lose the baby weight, or they've gained weight over the years and don't feel as good or confident in their body and appearance, so they want to get more active to change. Or they have began to develop or currently have health issues following a line of doctor visits and they want or need to improve their health for the long term, to enjoy life and their families for as long as they can. Whatever it may look like, most people have a reason. Oftentimes those goals are then set. Some procrastinate and some jump right into it. They get started and after a few weeks to a couple months, the season changes and they get tired of doing it and they give up. Or they may even reach their goal weight and once that happens, they go right back to their old habits. Sound familiar? Mm-hmm, they may include you, because I already know they have been me too.

Speaker 1:

See, what I didn't know then that I know now is to receive guidance from God. We must seek God's will in all we do. Catch this. This means turning every area of our life over to him. I'll say it again it means turning every area of our life over to him. Jesus reminds us to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. We can start a new weight loss journey over and over. Try diet trend after diet trend, take two steps forward to fall off track and take five steps back, trying to do it all in your own might and willpower. But ask yourself this have you tried it with God? Have you asked Jesus to walk with you and talk with you? He is the only friend who sticks closer than any brother. Have you allowed the Holy Spirit to guide you? Have you invited God into the details? See, let God be God.

Speaker 1:

Proverbs 16.9 says the heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. I don't know who needs to hear this, but I hear God saying it is bigger than you. I know for me. I am a planner. I plan things out well in advance because I am looking forward to a certain outcome. Things out well in advance because I am looking forward to a certain outcome. But even on my best day of planning, god controls what actually happens. He alone determines that, not me. There is nothing too big or too small that we shouldn't present to God.

Speaker 1:

If you are planning to start a new weight loss journey and workout regimen, invite God into the details. If you're planning to change your eating habits to improve your health, invite God into the details. If you're needing to make physical and mental lifestyle changes to get off certain medications, invite God into the details, because Yahweh knows the plan to direct your steps. Come on somebody. God says it's bigger than you. Check this out. Your plan is to go on a weight loss journey to lose 20 to 30 plus pounds for your next vacation. But God's plan is for you to start your weight loss journey so you have the strength to endure the journey of starting that business, walking out the vision he gave you to bring that ministry to life. Your plan is to change your eating habits so you can feel better about yourself and appearance. But God's plan is for you to change your eating habits so you can sustain the miracle God does to remove that cancer in your body. God wants to change your eating habits so you can fuel and nourish your body, to have mental clarity, to serve your family and community, to be the cheerful giver God created you to be. You plan to improve your health and get off prescription medications to live a long life. But God's plan is that he chose you to improve your health, to be the one to break the generational cycle of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and cancer from your family.

Speaker 1:

In contrast here sis, our plans come from the desires of our heart. Rather, they are good or bad, but God's sovereignty is unmatched. He exercises his own power and authority in permitting, overruling or prospering our plans and actions. We serve a God who is able to do far more abundantly than we can ask or think. That's a word for somebody. So I pose this question why would you not invite God into the details? Let God be God.

Speaker 1:

Jeremiah 29, 11 says For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. This verse keep it close, store it in your heart, because for many reasons and in various seasons in our lives, we feel we are being held captive, like the Jews in Babylon. You see life as it is now and begin to believe that it is how it will always be, but the same encouragement and promises God gave the Jews in Jeremiah's letter to move forward, god provides that same for us. Listen, god knew you before he formed you in your mother's womb. The Lord knows the thoughts he has towards you, even through all you have been through and will face and, to his glory, he knows the plans for your future and they are good and packed with hope. His thoughts are not meant to harm you, but they are high, higher than we could ever think of ourselves, even when we feel the odds are against us. God created you to do great works. Why would he not think highly of you? We are the ones who need to humble ourselves and give him all the praise.

Speaker 1:

Lean not on your own understanding and trust in the Lord that he is faithful to direct and guide your path, no matter what life journey or season you are in Now. Don't be misled and believe that the obstacles won't come your way, that you are exempt from hardship or suffering in the process, or that the enemy won't come lurking, because the truth of the matter is that it is a guaranteed part of life. But God is greater and he intends to see you through to a glorious victory. And although the promise from Jeremiah 29, 11 of God's hope and a future was written in a old covenant, don't allow yourself to be deceived by the devil to believe that that same promise is not favorable to you. Through Jesus, if the Lord calls you to it, he will see you through it. Trust him. Let God be God.

Speaker 1:

Psalms 46.10 says Be still and know that I am God. That just tugged on my spirit. If you have been convicted to start making life changes for your health and well-being, or if God has given you a vision to do something in the earth that is bigger than you. If God has given you a vision to do something in the earth that is bigger than you, this verse does not mean to be still, meaning to stop being active and stand in one place, but rather it means to stop resisting, opposing, procrastinating. Come on somebody Arguing. Stop trying to do things in your own might and efforts. Be still and recognize and honor God for who he is.

Speaker 1:

God can make the impossible possible. He is, above all. Be still and see the glory and greatness of God. He promised hope and a future, not stagnation and comfortability. He didn't create you to do a good work without him. Simply surrender. He is the God who can open up the windows of heaven and pour out blessings you don't have room enough to receive. He gave us Jesus so we know we can do all things through Christ, our Lord, who strengthens us. Jesus can calm any storm we are faced with. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Speaker 1:

I want to encourage somebody today to turn to the Lord in prayer and talk to him about what he has already told you Surrender the goals, the desires of your heart, your health journey and lifestyle changes. You name it. He already knows the end from the beginning. You may be someone who already acknowledges God in many areas of your life, but if there are any areas where you don't, this may be your sign to gird up your loins and walk with Jesus. God is a God who testifies with giving signs, wonders and performing miracles. If he can do it for me, he will do it for you? A weight loss goal, a confident physical appearance, a habit and lifestyle change? What value does it bring if you miss Jesus?

Speaker 1:

Breaking a generational cycle, starting a business or ministry, seeing miracles, signs and wonders cannot exist without God. Let God be God. And as I end this, sis, I don't know how your day was going, but I pray the presence of God met you right where you are. I pray that by exploring these promises, you will be able to see how they can shape your daily lives and everything you do, in everything you do, giving you power to release old mindsets and actions, while becoming transformed by the renewing of your mind. With God's divine guidance and together, may we all say Amen, that's it, that's all family. I hope this truly blesses you and until next time, peace, love and blessings.
